Laurel and Hardy visited Manchester on all four British Tours. In 1932 they stayed just one night at the Midland Hotel. In 1947 Stan and Ollie made up for their previous short stay by playing TWO weeks at the Palace Theatre. In 1952 they were back at the Palace Theatre, but this time for just the one week. They again stayed at the Midland Hotel. Laurel and Hardy's last stay came in 1953, when widespread flooding, and exhaustion, added to their woes.
