Laurel and Hardy played in YORK only
once,
in 1954, at
the Empire Theatre, in Cumberland Street, York, North Yorkshire.
It is now known as the Grand Opera House, and is still a fully working
theatre.

It appears that the people
of York where very
blase about the Hollywood
legends being in town, and newspaper reports were pretty well
non-existent.
